Velocity and Acceleration
Definition of Acceleration
It is easy to understand the definition of the velocity.
"Moved distance/travel time" is a definition.
The unit at the velocity[m/s] can consent if it knows this.
Because moved distance[m] is divided by travel time[s], it becomes form of [m/s].
On the other hand, unit of acceleration [m/s2]
Second(s) is a square though looked like the unit at the velocity.
Let's return to the graph ahead.
In the v-t graph, the inclination shows the acceleration.
Let's obtain the inclination here.
The inclination is calculated by "Change of Y axis / change of X axis".
First of all, let's convert 80 km/h into per second.
The reason for time is that it expresses it by "Second".
80[km/h]=22.22[m/s]
The velocity of car A has changed from [0m/s] into 22.22[m/s] spending 30 seconds.
When Changing of Y axis(22.22[m/s]) is divided with Changing of X axis(30[s]), it is an inclination.
The calculation result is the following.
22.22[m/s] / 30[s] = 0.74[m/s2]
This inclination is an acceleration.
Pay attention to unit [m/s2] here.
S(second) is a square because velocity [m/s] is divided by time[s].
The acceleration is defined as "Change in velocity[m/s] per time[s]".
When above-mentioned car A is made an example, it is "0.74[m/s] speeds improve every second. "
The concrete example is shown though it seems to be tenacious.
Car A that had been stopped started.
After 1[s], the speed became 0.74 [m/s].
After 2[s], the speed became 1.48 [m/s].
After 3[s], the speed became 2.22 [m/s].
0.74 [m/s] increase every second
After 30[s], the speed became 22.22 [m/s].
I think that it was able to actually feel the meaning of the acceleration and the meaning of the unit[m/s2] of the acceleration.
